Cozumel Part 2

I somehow just realized that I forgot to post the rest of the Cozumel stay. Here it is. HUGOMORE42 The main road on Cozumel essentially makes a loop around the lower half of the island. Starting at San Miguel in the west, it heads east till it hits the ocean, follows the coast all the way south, and then loops back north to San Miguel again along the west coast.

Cozumel

Just posted the pictures from our vacation to Cozumel, Mexico over Thanksgiving. It was a strange time to go on a trip, but, Heidi only has vacation days at certain times. Most of that is in summer (when it's nice to be in Michigan), so our vacation dates are pretty narrowed down. HUGOMORE42 We stayed in a hotel called Casita de Maya. We hoped that staying in a smaller place would give us a better feel for the culture, and a more personal experience.

I'm just getting around to posting a few pictures from a business trip to the LA area (Long Beach specifically) way back in May. The pictures are from the couple hours I took in the evenings for sight seeing. All in all, it was a good trip, though I'd be perfectly happy never passing through LA International Airport again. First comes a few pictures from Shoreline Park, in Long Beach.

Crystal Mountain

We went to Crystal Mountain last weekend with Tim, Nancy, Kyle, and Jacquie. Chase used to go skiing with his family and with the Pollacks at Crystal Mountain when he was younger. He also skis with Sam in our yard. I have only been to Thompsonville to go to Mike's for the annual canoe trip. I used to cross country ski with my family when I was younger, but hadn't skied in a long time and had never downhill skied.

More pictures

We spent another couple hours at Panara, and Heidi has posted some more pictures. First, are most of the pictures from our trip to Gatlinburg, Tennesee back in June. Next, we have a couple from the Kent Cottage. Finally, we have some from the Bolen Cottage. We're not caught up yet, but we're getting there.

Home

We've returned from back-to-back trips to the U.P. and Tennessee. More on that in future posts. The two days since we got back have been spent moving into the house, after which I think we're both ready for another vacation. Big thanks to everybody who helped us with cleaning and moving this weekend. We would never be in now if it weren't for your help.

Hiking in Big South Fork

Hello again, I'm back from my trip... HUGOMORE42 I got back Tuesday afternoon, and it's good to be home. The hiking was great, Big South Fork is a beautiful park (pictures). Considering that neither of us had done much hiking since high school, it was extremely successful. Travelling wasn't so good though, and I can't say I'm anxious to try greyhound again. We got to the park a little after noon on Thursday, September 1.

Hiking

I'll be leaving soon for a hiking trip... HUGOMORE42 The first day will consist of an 11 hour bus ride to Kentucky, where I'll meet Joe and begin a 4 hour drive to the Big South Fork National Park in Tennessee. Then we'll actually start hiking, which will be good since I'll be pretty tired of riding by then. So far it's looking like excellent weather for hiking, despite the hurricane.
